So, I started working on my credit score around 2 months ago with fantastic results. I was originally anticipating buying a house next summer, but things change and I have found a new construction home that qualifies for a USDA loan, but im unsure if I do. Any help will be greatly appreciated! The selling price of the home is 129,900. My Equifax score is 625 with a collection that is due to fall off any day, my experian score is 649 and transunion im unsure. Also i make 40k per year. I had a student loan go in to default and I entered into the rehab program 7 months ago. I talked with an account specialist today, and she is telling me at the end of this month i will be done with the rehab program as long as i make one extra payment. Sounds fishy to me, but im excited either way. Also, closing date of the home is January 31st. I have short credit history with my student loan and my capital one secured card being my only accounts reported. AAoA is 2 years, and i have between 2-3 inquiries on each CA. Should i try applying for another credit card to get my score up? I pay my CC in full every month leaving a 0 balance. Do i have a chance at the usda loan?
