My wife and I are planning on buying a house in the next few months. I have been working with the same company for 12 years and has a credit score of 809 so I should have no problem obtaining a mortgage. But my wife has been in this country for only five years and was a college student for 3 years and just started working 15 months ago after she graduated.
My questions are: since my wife doesn't have more than 2 years of work experience, is there a problem that we may not qualify for a mortgage as joint tenants because of her short work history ? Do lenders look at college hours as work history ?
