Does it matter which bank you get a loan from?

I have banked with BoA since back in '96 when it used to be nations bank and BoA bought them out or merged.  I was wondering if it could get a better deal with BoA than say Chase because I bank with them or does it really matter?

If I was you I would go with Chase.  I went with Chase and it literally took 3 weeks for my loan to get approve from start to finish.  Since BoA bought Countrywide they are really backed up with loan applications.  The Chase loan officer was really knowledgeable with VA loans.  Remember with VA loans is not about the DTI is all about the residual income.
