Down Payment Assistance/ USDA Income limts

Hi All!

There are so many programs out there to help first time home buyers, which is great!!

Unfortunately it seems the income ceiling for the programs is about $77,000 for Ohio and my husband exceeds that amount.

Should I be looking elsewhere for assistance other than USDA, Neighborhood stabilization Programs and Ohio Downpayment assistance?

We pay SOO much in taxes that I would hope we could at least benefit from SOMETHING.

Thanks!

Re: Down Payment Assistance/ USDA Income limts

Down payment assistance type programs are usually limited to those with lower incomes.  Normally the income calculations are based on total HH income and total HH occupants: more occupants mean you can have a higher income.  However, the income limits are not at all flexible - not one dollar more than what the program allows.

If you have researched all the programs for your area (City/County/State) and you don't meet the income requirements, then you will need to find a way to get a down payment.  FHA allows 100% gift funds for example.
