Escrow balance question :)

Hopefully a mortgage person can help me here.  We have a high escrow balance at this time with Countrywide and know that there is at least $3000 more than is needed for the year.  Can we request an overage check to pay our house payment next month? 

Last year in July they sent us an overage check for over $4000.  (The county was behind in assessing the new property for taxes.....they have since done the assessment and the full amount is now being taken our).

It never hurts to ask, and if you are truly over by that amount and can't get anywhere with a customer service representative, then by talking to a supervisor you should be able to get a refund.  They can't re-apply it to your mortgage payment but they can send you the refund back and you just deposit it/use it to pay the mortgage payment.
