There are only unsavory loan officers. Lenders, in whole, don't prey on any part of the homebuying population. Make sure the loan officer, and their support staff, is up to your standards. You should speak to at least 3 of them or until you feel comfortable selecting the right loan officer. They could be from Bob's Mortgage Store, your credit union, or HSBC (largest bank in the world). It doesn't matter what company they represent, just that you are in capable and trustful hands.
