i am going through merrimack mortgage but im wondering if the advice hes giving me is sound? ive heard hes great at what he does.. but was instructed to pay any collection over $250 and anythig that may add up to $1000. which im doing, and by thend end of the month will have settle or PIF everything.. which is 4-5 years old.. hoping PRAYING it doesnt re age accounts and drop my score.. im at the 620 mark.. with about 631 middle score. now.. we want FHA but im not sure where to look?

Do you have any friends or relatives that can recommend a loan officer?  If not maybe your buyer's agent can recommend one.  I wouldn't want to pay them before closing just because you're so close to the 620 mark.  Either pay them at closing or take a break and do some PFDs.  Or find someone that doesn't require them to be paid..
