FTHB Credit and Form 1040X / W2s

Does anyone know if it is a hard requirement to attach W2s to form 1040X when filing an amended return for the FTHB credit? The instructions for form 1040X indicate that you should attach W2s "...that support changes made on this return..." Nothing changed on my W2s that impact the amendment I am making for the FTHB credit. Has anyone amended for 2008 with form 1040X that did NOT attach W2s that received their credit back?

I believe that is only when reported wages have changed since your first filing.  Tax person or IRS is the best source for that info though.

I received my refund back in February and I only included the HUD and copy of original 1040.  Closed on Dec 18 and filed amended taxes on Jan 18.  Received refund in less than 30 days.
