Thank you Dallas. This could be great news for me and my family since the time limit is longer than initially proposed.

Has this been approved?  Or is it still pending?

Thanks for the site, Dallas, I was going to purchase this spring/early summer, but decided I wanted to pay off my car loan now that my credit card debt is gone.  So the purchase has been delayed until late summer/early fall and I was hoping the first-time home buyer's credit would still be there.

This is a result of the SIGNED bill.

Re: First Time Homebuyer Tax Credit Chart... Very well put together reference

So is there a new form # to claim on 2008 taxes or do we still use IRS for 5405 for the $8,000?

Thank you! I was having trouble finding stuff on the internet.  Once said the President already signed it, one said he would sign it, I was confused.

This link has some FAQ's about the new 8,000 credit. Best I've seen at answering questions about it.

This is fantastic!  I just closed last week on my first home for $46,000 and have already sent in my amended paperwork.  It is great news to know that it is not a loan and is now a credit if I wait for three years minimum.  Thanks!!!
