Get a new card or not?

Dh and I want to get a usda loan soon. The lender suggested we add another credit card right now. We have 1 secured car, 1 personal loan, and student loans. If I get a new credit card right now, won't that hurt me before it helps? We want a loan by September.

I would do what the lender told me to do.  Seems his/her advice it aimed at getting you approved.  Good luck!
