Guaranteed original question for the mortgage experts

Went through a rough rough stretch 2-3 years ago.  Two medical accounts went to collection.  Series of late payments on credit card, one 150 days late.  several 30 day lates on car loan. Total of 14 lates on my credit report during this terrible year.

But.......things have turned around.  Absolutely zero lates the last 19 months.  6 accounts currently in good standing.  697 middle score.

I've heard that underwriters look at the credit report, not necessarily the score.  SO, that said, does my 697 carry any weight, or will the 14 lates plus collections from that bad year ruin everything?
