Hopeful first time home buyer, should I change jobs before?

So here is our situation. My wife makes about 100k a year and shes been at her job for 10+ years. (<Freakin' Breadwinner). I have been at my job for 16 months and make a lot less. Would it be worth it to get a new job in a similar field, and increase my income 25%-33%?

Depends upon what you want to buy.

Do you like your job and/or career?  If you like it and you both can afford a home on your combined income, then don't change careers. As an agent, I am seeing this more and more frequently (where the wife is the breadwinner and the husband earns less).  It is what you do together that counts.

If you don't like your current career/job; then my answer is different. Do what you enjoy in the way of work if at all possible.
