Re: Horrible credit and want a mortgage in 6 months

It has taken me a year to go from 560 ish to 620. It takes awhile. Its easy to jump up in the 500's but in the 600 and 700 range your score moves a lot slower!!! Good Luck

7/1/13 - EQ = 593 TU = 578 EXP = 573 FICO
8/11/13 - EQ = 600 TU = 590 EXP = 603 FICO
10/1/13 - EQ = 611 TU = 689 EXP = 605 FICO
12/4/13 - EQ = 625 TU = 648 EXP = 604
Lender Pull 2/18/14 - EQ = 630 TU = 678 EXP = 594
Lender Pull 2/28/14 (EQ 640) (TU 660) (EX 655) Rapid re-score =)
9/30/14 - EQ = 660 TU = 710 EXP = 669

Re: Horrible credit and want a mortgage in 6 months

A recent 90 day late?  A mortgage prob. will not happen within six months.  Most underwriters will require at least 12 months clean report.  A 30 day may be overlooked, but a 90?  Probably Not.  Just keep paying everything on time and try to work a goodwill and see if the 90 day and 60 can be deleted.  Make sure you have no overdrafts.  Your time will come.  Good luck!

Wow!  Congratulations. How did you do it? If you don't mind me asking. What type of loan? What was your score?

Re: Horrible credit and want a mortgage in 6 months

I would be very surprised that a lender would approve a mortgage before one year is behind you on the 90 day lates.  However, keep up with the goodwills and see where it takes you!  Congratulations on being able to pay your cards down so quickly!  Utilization is HUGE!

Just remember.....horrible credit CAN be repaired!
