I was in college at that time and didnt care about a house or mortgage. What was it like back then?

LOL, if you were breathing you could get a loan, the "stated income" loan is how it was done... AKA: Liar Loan, it does not exist today..

It was very easy. You pretty much got the loan program that worked for you and you got the house.

We bought our first home in 2004 and it was the easiest thing to get.. I couldn't even get a damn credit card, but a house no prob.

When we bought our second home last year, just to get an FHA loan with a big down payment was hell.

How easy was it to get a mortgage back during the bubble?
