How far ahead is closing scheduled for new build?

We had snow and rain in Dec and it delayed the shipping of our Stone and Brick. And then they had to tear into the foundation to fix a pipe and that was another delay, but even with that we are still ahead of schedule.

No snow here, not much rain either.

I've always wondered about the rain though, isn't it bad for the house if it rains on the bare wood frame? I mean there is no way around it but still seems odd.

That crosses everyones mind at some point. Some builders try and wrap with plastic just not to delay things. But it cuts into their bottom line. Most just let the wood dry out before continuing.

The roof goes on during framing and the windows, that will help a lot.
