How long after closing can I app?

Is there a general rule of thumb when it comes to how fast you can start applying for new credit after a mortgage closing? The last time I applied for anything was like 2005-2006 with a Cap1 card.

From my experience, no.  Once you've closed and signed the legal paperwork, it's a done deal for all parties.

You can app the moment that you get the keys to your home.

As soon as your loan funds. Some states this will be the same day as signing, in CA it is typically the next day.

1000% agree. The second after you sign the papers and get the keys in your hand you can start.
