Long story short, after three weeks of working with our loan officer our file finally went to underwriting and then was "kicked out" of the automated system due to two accounts that had dispute comments on them. Apparently even though the disputes are from four years ago and are now closed, the "dispute" language is picked up by the system. Our loan officer now says we must get these removed before we can proceed. We are so upset that he did not tell us this three weeks ago BEFORE we made the offer on our house, did the inspection, paid for a rapid rescore( to reflect some recent credit card payments we had just made prior to application) appraisal etc.. He says he simply overlooked the comments when he pulled the report initially. We are beyond frustrated and were hoping that someone has some insight on what we should do. We have tried contacting the CRA's and they just want us to open a dispute to dispute the dispute comments, which seems like it would make matters worse and would take at elate 30 days. We also contacted the company's that are reporting the comments and they instructed us to fax a request to a certain fax number and said there is no contact number to check on the status...we must just "wait" for a reply. Meantime, we will most likely lose the house! If anyone has any experience with this sort of thing, your advice would be appreciated greatly.
