My timeframe as follows:
Wasn't looking to buy but realized that my all time dream house was for sale and the price had dropped to within reach!
November 15th---viewed house
November 18th-Went to bank--got automated underwriting approval-approved eligible
November 20th--signed contract on house-(residence was a local real estate agent's primary home)
November 22nd-Asked the seller since she is a real estate agent if she would buy my house and resell it since it was only worth 1/3 of what hers was worth--and she could resell mine quicker in this area and she agreed.
November 24th-signed contract to sell her my house to her.
---Thanksgiving--no action!---
Week after Thanksgiving-appraisal ordered-had to hold breath no comps within 35-40 mile radius.
Week of December 7th received letter of commitment from mortgage company and appraisal accepted.
Around December 11th got clear to close.
December 17th-Closed on my old house to seller.
December 18th-Closed on my dream house.
These are approximated times but I know from contract to closing was exactly 28 days.---thanks for knowledge and advice on boards. Thanks Dallas for all the responses and Mickie too!
