I closed on my house Friday! I'm so happy! It was a fairly quick and easy process, too! I put in the offer and got a pre-approval letter 6/30, offer accepted 7/1, and closed 8/12. I could have closed sooner, but I had already given notice at my apartment. The only request that came from the underwriter was for proof that a judgment against me was paid, and an explanation for 2 deposits into my bank account.
The only thing that came close to making me sad was when at the closing my lender mentioned the rate he just locked someone else in at...but hey, 4.5% is still good and I'm only paying $7 a month more than my rent had been!
