Congratulations!! Sounds like everything should be fine.
Just curious, how did you get your student loan to be deferred for that long? I thought they only did them in 1 year increments?
I changed my major a bunch, but now that I'm going into finance there is no way I can graduate until 2013, so it is in deferment until I graduate, unless I quit going to school of course.
Apparently my loan is in underwriting and it is driving me crazy waiting! So I'm praying, its making me nervous that it is taking so long.
I'm in the same situation. I'm only taking 2 classes a semester because I'm working full-time. I haven't applied for the pre-approval but I'm trying to get my loan deferred longer (it's due to come off this June). I had the loan company to send me the paperwork for the deferrment and I've had my school to update my graduation date to reflect graduation in December 2011. Does the loan people go by the graduation date that the school put on the deferrement form or would I need to call them and ask them to do it more than a year?
I'm not sure. All my deferments just automatically say until 2013, I didn't have to do anything. I think maybe they get it off your FAFSA when you enter your expected graduation date, but that's just a guess. Good Luck!
Thanks...Do you mind me asking how much you were approved for and how much you make yearly? I only make about 32,000/yr and I won't have any outstanding bill so I'm wondering how much I will be approved for.
Thx
Well, since I'm in limbo - I'm praying they don't count my $30,000 in student loans into my DTI (which my broker said they shouldn't). I got screwed over in the past by a trade school, that's why that amount is so high.
I make base salary of $45K and with OT and bonus my W2 showed approx. $49K for last year. The loan amount is somewhere around $174K (maybe a little lower).
My broker just called and said he submitted to another lender because the first one was taking so long in underwriting - so pray I get approved soon!!
I will...Good luck
I made it through underwriting and have been approved!! I used a broker who got my loan approved through Bank of America (eeek from all the things I have read on this board, but I hope it all goes smoothly). My closing will be the 2nd week of May.
So any tips on getting through the rest of this process?
Oh, and the scores have been going up, here is what bank of america said they were:
TU: 659 / EX: 648 / EQ: 601
just out of curiosity, how did you get your TU score to increase by so much so fast? I'm trying to increase my TU quickly.
