I closed on my first home yesterday. THANKS to everyone's advice. Three lenders and three offers later, God blessed me with the PERFECT house and loan for me!!! Thanks again, this FORUM ROCKS!!!!! I found a totally rehabbed (not a foreclosure & in a gret area) all brick Cape Cod for 80K with 4800 towards closing. FHA fixed 30 yr loan at 5.5%, my total payment including mortgage and escrow is only $15.00 more than I pay in rent. I have a great mortgage company and realtor to thank for everything. If you're looking to buy in the Chicago area, I have referrals for ya!!!
