Income question

My wife we be going back to work this fall as a teacher. She has stayed home for the last two years raising the kids. She has a 3 year working history as a teacher before the kids were born. Will we be able to use her income for mortgage purposes or will we have to wait 2 years?

Im currently in Texas but the new mortgage will be in Louisiana
