Inspection killed the deal

So mad, but there's light at the end of the tunnel. We had our home inspection on a house we are under contract on. The inspector pulled NUMEROUS thing, but the main things were:

 

Rear retaining wall is falling 0 needs replacing

 

Roof - entire roof, including wood underneath needs replacing. The wood underneath is shot

 

Back sun porch is rotting

 

Second floor landing is rotted - needs replacing

 

Rear wall in master bedroom is rotted, needs replacing.

 

Termite infestation is severe.

 

Unless the sellers (estate sale) plan in fixing it, we will not buy it. We talked to our mortage office and we have decided to go up in price to about $350-370 range. GRRR!!

Wow.  Sorry to hear this.

 

Better to find out now than later, though. 

 

You definitely got your money's worth from that inspector, and then some.

Yeah we def. did. It was worth every penny. Back on the hunt today!

We're looking at a short sale now,  but I know they are a real pain!
