Is this normal

Is it normal to have to provide the following documents to get a pre-approval letter for a home loan: 2 months bank statement, months worth of pay stubs, w2's, tax returns, and letters explaining negatives on credit report?

Scores Along the Way (11/4/2010): EQ 542; TU 547; (11/8/2010) EX Plus 641
Scores Along the Way: (4/15/2011): EQ 516; TU 622; EX 585 (lender)
Scores Along the Way: (8/25/2011): EQ 617; TU 627; EX 625 (lender)
Scores Along the Way: (11/28/2011): EQ 617; TU 645; EX 667 (lender)
Current Scores: (8/9/2013): EQ 634; TU 662; EX 694 (lender)
Closed on a Home: 12/30/2011 Goal Scores (8/25/2014): 700 club

Yes it is normal. The tax returns are usually only required if the borrower has other than w-2 income, or unreimbursed employee expenses.

Those are all documents I have had to produce to get approval before.

 

Just curious, with your scores in your signature, where are trying to get pre-approval from?

First Guarantee Mortgage is willing to do an FHA loan with a minimum of 580 credit score.

if the loan officer doesnt ask for all of these things up front, they arent doing their job
