Letter of Explanation

Two weeks after I paid the $1,000 deposit with my offer on a house, I received a stipend check for $918 which I deposited into my account.  The bank now needs a letter of expanation saying where the money came from.  Can someone tell what it should say?

Re: Letter of Explanation

Exactly what you wrote here - it came from a stipend check from work.  Sounds like it wasn't direct deposited, so you probably will also need to provide a copy of the check stub.

Re: Letter of Explanation

Shane,

It was a stipend check from my student loan.

Re: Letter of Explanation

Was there a summary statement that came along with the check?  Provide that instead if there was no stub.
