Medical Bill Needs to be Paid before Mortgage?

Hi all,

My LO had me pay an older medical bill (back in 2008) for $1,100.  He said I had to to stay under the 5k in collections allowable by USDA.  I have another medical bill from 2011 that he said may not need to be paid.  That one is for 2,995.  I really do not have the ability to pay it until closing.  Do you think it will gte kicked back from USDA, and will have to be paid as a condition to get approved???
