Mortgage Loans & Debt

Are there any mortgages that will let you assume your debt into the mortgage?

I am a single mom who has accrued $35,000 in credit card debt, have scores in the mid-600's and make over $100,000 and would love to buy a condo, however don't know if I would get approved with the amount of debt I owe.

Re: Mortgage Loans & Debt

For the most part the amount of debt doesn't matter for the approval process.........It is the amount of your monthly payments that affect your approval and for how much.

If you can afford the monthly payments to pay down your debts and afford the mortgage then you will be approved if your credit reports are acceptable.

Thankfully there aren't really any loans out there anymore that allow you to do that.  It is a very bad idea in so many ways.

I just bought a house and make 50% less than you with total debts (car) of $25,000.....

Good Luck!
