MyFICO scores vs. Lender Scores

How different are the consumer scores from the ones pulled by lenders? I ask because my middle score is 632 and my mortgage officer wants me to get to a 680. Not sure how I'm going to get there in the next 2-3 months. A second mortgage officer told me the score can differ by as much as 30 pts. Is this true?

Re: MyFICO scores vs. Lender Scores

Very interesting. Do you think it's OK to apply with a MyFICO score around 650 or so?

Re: MyFICO scores vs. Lender Scores

Well, right now TU and EQ are sitting at 632. I'm waiting for a BoA account to update on TU with new balance of $3. It was previously $521. Credit limit is $1337.

That's very encouraging. Is this pretty typical?

Re: MyFICO scores vs. Lender Scores

You should get a nice boost from paying down the utilization.  Is that your only CC?

And my lender pulls were higher than myFico scores as well.  Most that I've read have been, at least by a few points.  Mine was about 15-20 pts different. Except EQ, which is identical.

Re: MyFICO scores vs. Lender Scores

Now I'm wondering why the mortgage guy told me the scores could be 20-30 points lower.
