I wish I was a member of NCFU while I was looking for a low down payment option.
I'm stuck in a long drawn out stack backed SONYMA loan (state of new york mortgage association)
the rate is 3.0 with a .375 bump since I didnt have the full 3% down.
It gets forgiven after 10 years or pro-rated for paybackif you refi before that.
@truestor & bliss....did you have any credit card debt at the time of your application? And if so, did they advise you to pay it all off before closing? What amount did you have to have saved for a down payment?

We are getting ready to close on our new construction home with NFCU on Monday. The process has been ridiculously smooth and we applied on November 17th, so less than 30 days! We are also getting a refund!
We were working with a different lender for 8 months who failed to mention a few very important details, but brought them up when we received our 30 day letter from the builder. This prompted us to scramble around looking for a new lender.
One question I have is, did you have to sign documents at closing that were already esigned?
Hello! Since you're going through this process currently, I wanted to ask if you knew if they actually do the second credit check before closing? There is a ton of conflicting info on these forums about NFCU, and I'd love to know from someone who is doing it right now. We applied on Nov 22, pre-approved on Nov 30. We put in our contract on Dec 7, and received all of our paperwork from the processor on Dec 8. Our closing date is currenlty set for Jan 11, so well before the 90 days. Hope your closing went well!
