Thanks so much for the insight... I've been trying to research this to see what Congress' current opinion is on it, but haven't been able to find much, so I really appreciate the info. We're operating under the assumption that the limits will fall back to original as well, but my fingers are still crossed that increases will be extended!
I think Congress has its hands full right now and isn't seriously thinking about this - they'll have opinions on August 3rd, probably.
Haha, agreed. I didn't think that Congress was thinking about it now, but this expiration has been planned for a long time and various real estate groups have been lobbying it for awhile, so I assumed that there are members of Congress that have thought about it at some time and maybe even given opinions on it in the past.
Last week my congressman and one of my senators sent me their replies to my email about Mr. Weiner's situation. That was surprisingly quick compared to previous issues. BTW, apparently the way to really get their office's attention is to send them a letter the old fashioned way. Be prepared for campaign materials and donation requests when they're running again, though!
Ok, you must share.... what on earth did you write to them about Mr. Weiner?!?
Good idea... I think I'll sit down and write to letter to my congressman urging him to extend the increase Selfish, yes, but it would save me from having to shell out another $17K at closing!
I'll PM it to avoid getting into a contentious discussion here.
Got your PM - the "Mr. Weiner's situation" phrasing made me a laugh so I had to ask
Just got this sent to me by an account executive from an old lender we used to use.
Hi Shane - that link doesn't work, I just keeping getting an error page - can you please resend? Thanks!
The original link from the email no longer works either - it was labeled "Internal" so perhaps it wasn't supposed to be sent out to me even.
