Hi, We are planning on applying with Veterans United for our home loan as well. We are looking to purchase one for about the same amount. If it's not too personal, do you mind me asking how much they required in reserves and closing costs? That's the last thing we need situated before applying and I'm not sure how much to have in bank. If you don't want to answer that I completely understand. Thanks in advance.
Hi Coldfeet,
We were continuously told that reserves are not required, but I would guess the more you have, the stronger your file. We had about $7000 when we applied for preapproval and about $5100 when we closed. We paid $1500 in earnest and also spent a week in DFW house shopping, so that drained us a little bit. If you have a TSP or anything, they will also count those as reserves and assets. Our sellers paid the closing costs, so I am not sure about those.
Unfortunately I will not be closing this month ....on my 6th completion date courtesy of my lying builder. I wonder if I'll be a November closer...we shall see smh
This BS, I just found out by my realtor they are pushing the closing date to November 5. Uggggh. I am a November closer.
