A quick question: Will the VA do a mortgage in an "age restricted" community?

Yes. No issues with VA or FHA either for age restricted communities.

I live in a 55+ community and we did a VA last year. I THINK the community has to be VA approved though....Maybe not though, our neighborhood has single homes and 3 and 4-plexes but they are all considered condos.

 

This is not something you would do, but the builder I'd imagine.

yes they will but, here in south florida you have to be 55+ and you have to go through a interview and pay and application fee. I'm considered 100% P&T tried to see if could do it but, My real estate agent asked my age I'm 37 let's say that was a no go...plus, with the VA home loan you have to watch out for the fee's some require large equity memberships among High HOA fees and high taxes. The VA not big on those extra fee's but thats here in south fl. I am in the process of looking for homes here got approve for 200k but thats chump change here so I'm headed to north florida where I can get more house for less money.......
