Re: Plan of attack for financing

Congrats! Get that utilization down under 30% this month and your score will go up some more. Ideally, under 9% should be your target to max your score out. Almost there! Keep up the good work!

Re: Plan of attack for financing

Personally if you are running a tight budget, I would start eliminating one card at a time, instead of trying to lower all of them at the same time. It will seem like you are gaining ground and you will have a chance to see a few more points added as the debt is eliminated completely on each card.

While FICO scores on UTIL, it scores UTIL on all cards and on each card individually. So if you can eliminate one cards debt to $0 owed, that will also give you a boost in score. Just dont forget to pay the minimum due on the other cards in the process.

Re: Plan of attack for financing

TY, I will try that. I have one card that will be reporting 0 in the next couple days so that will be 2  cards reporting 0. I had one that was supposed to be 0 but got hit with a $5 ic so learned my lesson there. Trying to get my 3 ge paid off and rapid rescored to 0, will put me below 50% and hopefully a nice boost. Hoping to have 5-6 cards at 0 a little before mid month.

Re: Plan of attack for financing

My mother will be adding me to her Sears Card. Perfect payment history since 1998, it will be my oldest card and also will increase my util as it has a 1400 cl and she will keep it at 0 for me through this house process.

Any idea how this will help score wise?

Re: Plan of attack for financing

Depends on how much it lowers your utilization percentage.  I added my wife to a card with a $7600 credit limit and zero balance. In addition to that, we paid down debt. her utilization went from about 85% to just over 30% and her Equifax score here went up about 23 points. Her transunion score here on myfico went up 16.  And we know there are more points to be had there as we pay down the utilization further.

Re: Plan of attack for financing

I got around 20 pts on my EQ when my util went from the 80 to the 60s. This card will be another card at 0 and should drop my util maybe like 3-5%. It will also increase my aaoa.

Re: Plan of attack for financing

I do RR later this week with 3 more cards paid off. Wish me luck.

It's been 3 months and EQ is the only one not showing my CAPONE acct. Any advice that won't involve a dispute?
