Depends upon the lender. Once you submit all of your documentation you should have a pre-approval the same day if you get one through the automated system. If you have to go through manual review, then it could take several days. If you are going to Wells Fargo, expect it to take a very long time....their system is the slowest as no one actually looks at the file until it hits the underwriter.
