Question About Loan Officers

My preapproval is through a mortgage bank.  Does the underwriter work for the same bank?  I think I'm just looking for some reassurance that a LO would know the overlays for the bank that they work for.  I'm all purgatory jittery.  I kind of feel like it would be rude to ask that to his face though, so I thought I'd ask a bunch of people I can't see on the internet.  LOL.

Yes, underwriters are employed by the same company as the LO. Id say short of the LO officer being new, they have probably been through enough situations to have a fair expectation of what their underwriters are looking for. It does them no favors to send a bad deal forward. You will be good, hang in there
