My wife and I are tentatively planning to buy a house around January/February next year. I had a question about employment history--I've been in the same industry for about 8 years, but was laid off in late 2016 for 3 months. Switched to a more stable company in January of this year and expect to stay with them for the foreseeable future.
Will we have to wait till January of 2019, when I'll (hopefully) have 2 years of solid employment with this company, or can I show my previous employment before the layoff in 2016?
