Reading forums, had a question on if you have a lender pull credit within 2 weeks again...

I read a couple posts stating that if a lender pulls your scores again within two weeks of the initial pull that it doesnt count as an additional pull. Is this true? Thanks!

This is GENERALLY true ONLY with mortgage, auto and student loan apps. It is absolutely NOT true of credit card apps.

Also, the pull has to be properly coded as being for mortgage, auto loan, etc. (which isn't always done) AND while multiple pulls may count as one for FICO scoring purposes, lenders still see the multiple HPs and may deny you credit or at least require recons if they think you have "too many" HPs for their liking.

as Gunnar said....all of the inquiries must be coded the same (all mortgage, all student loan, all auto) for this to apply.  credit card inquiries ding you each time your credit is pulled.
