Ridiculous question # 5556224587554

So I'm set to close in 2 weeks.  Can I purchase (with cash not new credit) my furniture now to have it delivered in time for closing day? Or should I wait until closing day to buy so that there's more money in my account.  Either way I'll have what I need to close.   Thanks!!!

My advice is just wait... any significant changes in your savings / reserves can be just the excuse some picky underwriter needs to reject your application.

+1   I agree.  I haven't touched my account other than the regular stuff (monthy bills).  I'm afraid to touch the money... and I won't touch it until after I have the keys.

It depends on how much money in reserves you have.

If you have ample enough savings to cover 3-6 months of payments after closing fees and downpayments (and furniture etc etc) you should have no problems with your loan.

I would wait...closings get delayed, things happen...

Once you are in the house, you might want to clean, paint, or something.   Having furniture already in would make that tough.

Congratulations!

Thanks everybody!   The furniture store is about 300 miles away and they only ship every 2 weeks.  So the longer I wait to order, the longer I wait to receive.  But maybe I'll find stuff locally that I like as much for close to the same low price.  Smiley Happy   I'm trying to be patient.   I haven't even started packing yet, so maybe that's what I'll start focusing on.  Smiley Happy

I would tend to agree with everyone else.  Just wait until closing.

Re: Ridiculous question # 5556224587554

I ordered some stainless LG appliances, 31 cuft fridge, 7.4cuft steam dryer and 3.9 cuft steam washer and the online store Appliance Factory Outlet was kind enough to hold them for me. I had the deliver scheduled to be shipped out a couple days before my closing date so it was there shortly after. I was rushed to buy them because it was all on sale, the fridge alone retails for 3k and the washer and dryer were about a thousand each locally. I had them shipped to my house without tax for about 3500 for all three of them so I got a good deal considering I was looking at over 5,000 if I bought them local.Long story short, I delayed the shipment 4 times before I finally knew for sure the timing was right.

In other words, expect a delay so unless they can hold on to it before they deliver, then just wait unless its on some super duper deal you won't ever get again.
