I am currently operating my business as a sole proprietor but I've been considering converting the business to a LLC or possibly a S corp. Would doing this within a year of applying for a mortgage throw anything off as far as the approval process goes?

Is the sole proprietor under your SSN or do you have EIN?  If possible, get the mortgage before switching to an LLC or S- CORP.

It's under my SSN but I do have a EIN that I use with other vendors to avoid handing out my SSN.
