I am preparing to close on my new house next week. I have setup a short tour with the seller the day before closing and I came up with a list of questions for the seller. I thought I would share with others just in case someone else was wondering what questions to ask. If there is anything I missed, please let me know.
1 What is the one improvement you've always wanted but never got around to?
2 What is your forwarding address, email address or phone number if you are comfortable?
3 Garage door codes / Alarm codes (If any)
4 What day is Trash day, Bulk trash day?
5 How does the sprinkler system work
6 How often do you water.
7 What is the name / phone number of the lawn service you use
8 Any other repair services you use?
9 Friendly or unfriendly neighbors, what about the neighborhood
10 When was the last time the furnace / chimney was cleaned
11 How old is the roof
12 How old is the AC/furnace
13 What improvements, repairs or upgrades have you made
14 anything that works, but is kind of wonky and needs an extra nudge or a hard turn to get it open/closed/activated
15 Paint colors (names/brands), any left overs.
16 Any existing warranties, receipts or instruction manuals
17 Gas fireplace key
18 Has the house ever been broken into, if so, where.
19 Anything defects or problems that I should fix right away?
20 Any spots that flood in the lawn in heavy rain
21 Anything else I should know
