Yep, we closed on our house May 28th. Process was very smooth, took us about 20 minutes to sign everything and get the keys!

 

Really, I didn't think this was possible even earlier this year, and I thought it was even less possible after finding out my wife's income wouldn't qualify in our approval. But alas, everything worked out and we got the house we so badly wanted!

 

Thanks everyone for the support and keeping me a little more sane throughout this process.

 

Our timeline if this helps anyone:

 

March 15 - Pre-approval from lender

March 19 - Offer made on house

March 21 - Offer accepted on house

March 22 - Contract sent to lender with verifying documents

March 25 - Home inspection

March 29 - Rate locked, appraisal/title ordered

April 6 - Appraisal completed, returned at selling price

April 27- Loan commitment letter received asking for final condition of homeowner's insurance

April 28 - Homeowner's insurance decs page received by lender, forwarded to underwriter for final approval

May 12 - Clear to close given by lender

May 25 - HUD statement received

May 26 - Final walkthrough

May 28 - Closed
