front end ratio ( that's just PITI, right?) is usually 33%?  I always thought 28%.  But I could see it moving with a large down payment

 

personally I'd feel real cramped paying out 33% of Gross just on PITI

Yes front end ratio is just PITI. Back end ratio is PITI plus all the required debts on your credit report.
