Tax Credit for those who bought in 2008 but before April 9th

Just checking (and hoping!)....

Has anything been changed to allow us in this situation to receive ANY tax credit?  I guess I can always hope....

I believe you have the option for the original $7500 that has to be repaid at 0% interest.

I believe - and hopefully someone else will confirm - that the original "credit" remained in place until it was replaced by the newer one.

Unfortunately, you do not qualify for the original $7500 tax credit.  It was only available for part of last year (you were correct on the date, April 9, 2008), and there has been no legislature making it retroactive from it's date of enactment.  Since you closed before that date, it's not available to you.

Sorry! I misread the OP. I thought you were talking about a purchase in 2009 before the $8k credit was enacted.

There is no $10,000 credit.  There WAS $7,500 and now there IS $8000.
