This is regarding the form for tax transcript requests by a lender.
DH is the only one applying for a VA loan. I am not on the loan. We've filed married/jointly for 14 years. However, I am the first person whose name is shown first for all the years we've been married.
The form the LO has sent for him to sign has his name as the person shown first, as well as his SS# number. My name and SS# is nowhere on the request.
This will cause a delay or rejection in the request? Or will it not matter? I know the IRS is picky.
Thanks for any help.
It doesn't matter whose name is listed first on a joint tax return. Either party can request a transcript and the lender can request a transcript for either party. Your name does not have to appear on the 4506-T.
