To Dispute or Not to Dispute...

Okay, I have former lender reporting that I have a student loan in deferment.  However, that particular student loan was consolidated.  I want to dispute that the acct is transferred/paid, but I've heard that disputing sometimes leads deleting?  It's my oldest account (dates back to 1996).  Should I dispute?  Is there a chance they'll delete the account?

Why not just call the place that is reporting......leave out your specific information and ask them what their policy is for that situation. Explain to them what you are concerned about and see what they say. Without your ss#, full name or account number they can't delete! Smiley Wink
