USDA - Unpaid income tax to state of Missouri

I am going to apply for a USDA loan in the next few months but I do have about $5000 in back income taxes owed to the state of Missouri. There is no judgment for it on my report but will this be a problem or will they even know about it?

Are you on a payment plan for the debt? They can and have checked public records for any outstanding taxes owed as they don't want a lien placed on the property they are selling you. So you will typically need to show that you have maintained a satisfactory payment plan for the debt.

No I don't have a payment plan on it yet. If I set up a payment plan how long would I need to have it set up before approval?
