USDA direct prequal

I sent in a prequalification application to the USDA about a week ago. Today they did a hard pull from cbcinnovis. I was wondering what anyone else’s experience was with this. I though they did a hard pull after the main application went in? I only know my Equifax score is at 652, and haven’t had any late payments or anything in collections which they want. Think I have a good chance of getting the loan?

I have no idea what your chances of getting the loan are, but I did the pre quality in May and they pulled my credit too. Then, they promptly sent me a letter stating that I seem like a good canadiate, but they ran out of funds. They would be letting me know if you they had funds every 6 months. I received a letter about 2 weeks ago that said they had funds and were ready to process my application. They have checked my credit again. And I think they check it one more time at closing. No word on whether I am approved or denied. I am going crazy waiting...

Lol how nice of them to pull your credit even though they didn't have the funds yet. I can understand them pulling it once they do have the funds, and maybe even again at closing, but not when they have no current ability to assist you with your home buying. At least in your situation they had the funds in about a month and not 6 months!

I faxed in the pre-qual paperwork Friday. Ran my credit same day, and got a letter today stating they had some concerns and that I needed to call them. Guess I'll do that tomorrow

I called them today and she said my application was being sent to the Specialist today. Last time I spoke with her, she said my application would go to the loan underwriter. Does anyone know the difference between the loan underwriter and a Specialist?

I have been approved with conditions-condition being, since I have 6 months left on my current rental lease, it has to be paid in full before they will approve. Not just my half, but mine and my roommates, since we are both on the lease. I understand but at the same time, I wasn't expecting to have to find $5200 ( before earnest money and inspection!) anyone else ever had this happen??!?
