Updated Credit Report Before Closing, What's All Involved?

When a lender pulls your credit report before closing (if they do), do they update balances too? I'm debating if I should pay down my card or just stay cash rich for now. It's not a new card, and I didn't go opening new accounts so that I'm not worried about.

I'm just curious if they make the credit card companies do a mid-cycle update, my statements are clean as I always pay to $0 every renewal but if they do a mid cycle update they will see about a $1500 swing.

Re: Updated Credit Report Before Closing, What's All Involved?

I have asked that exact question, and the answer that I got was that they can only see the end statement that has been reported to the credit bureaus. My cards cut on the 22, and my closing is on the 14, so I'm thinking I should be good. I had them paid off this month. For my card that cuts on the 7th, I will make sure and have that one paid down for the closing on the 14. Good luck!
