VA Funding Fee and GFE

I am just curious as to why the GFE estimate includes the VA funding fee and tallies it up with the final settlement charges. Since this can be rolled into the loan, would I just subtract the VA funding fee amount from the final tally at the bottom of the GFE to get a more accurate picture of the money I will need for closing?

Re: VA Funding Fee and GFE

It can be rolled in but you need to tell your lender this is the option you are going to use. Mine had to e-mail me a new GFE when I asked. They had it out of pocket to begin with also.

Best financial advice I ever got: "Just imagine what an adult would do and do that."

Re: VA Funding Fee and GFE

well the loan amount already reflects that i wanted it rolled in. I was just guessing they have to include it as a seperate line item on the GFE
