My commitment letter was due 4/18/14! I called my LO and realtor freaking out! Both of them reassured me that the commitment letter was not that important if we were going to close on time. She just spoke to the listing agent (for homepath) and he just wanted to make sure that the loan was progressing. She said she has never had a deal fall through because of a loan commitment not being submitted by the contract date. Now if closing keeps getting pushed back then there may be a problem. You seem to be in good shape Mrs_hambright, I am claiming (not hoping) that it will work out for you!
